Kwinana, WA
WA Universal delivered structural, mechanical and piping installation works for Train 2 of the Talison Kwinana Lithium Hydroxide Processing Plant. The project involved major steel erection, mechanical installation, pipework and craneage support. WA Universal’s scope helped expand critical processing infrastructure for lithium hydroxide production, supporting a key Western Australian project within the battery minerals supply chain.
The Challenge
The Train 2 works required the installation of heavy structural steel and process-related mechanical and piping systems within a complex industrial plant environment. The scope included pumps, tanks, motors, pipe racks and associated pipework. Coordinating these packages required strong interface management, precise lifting, efficient sequencing and reliable craneage support to maintain progress across multiple work fronts.
Our Approach
WA Universal delivered a coordinated SMP package supported by site tower crane access and mobile craneage. The team sequenced steel erection with installation of mechanical plant, pipe racks and pipework to maintain safe, efficient workflow. Skilled personnel managed lifting, placement and installation activities while supporting project requirements for accuracy, productivity and integration with surrounding plant infrastructure.
The Result
WA Universal installed 900 tonnes of structural steel and completed mechanical works across pumps, tanks, motors, pipe racks and pipework. The company also supplied the site tower crane and all mobile craneage required for the package. These works supported delivery of Train 2 processing infrastructure and contributed to the expansion of lithium hydroxide production capability at Kwinana.
